Jewellery Care

If you want to keep your jewellery looking good for many years to come, try to ensure any hairspray, creams, makeup or perfume is dry before putting on any jewellery. Avoid wearing any jewellery in the pool or sea, as this will also accelerate tarnish.

For general wear and tear of silver or goldfill/gold, wash it in warm soapy water, carefully buff with a soft cloth and, once dry, return it to the ziplock bag provided. Each of our bracelets and necklaces are supplied with a complimentary silver cloth.

If jewellery becomes badly tarnished, you could try either a silver dip or a trip to your local jewellers to ask them to clean it for you. We recommend Town Talk cleaning products, which can be purchased from John Lewis or Argos etc. The two we recommend are ‘Silver Sparkle’, Town Talk for sterling silver, without any stone settings, or ‘Jewel Sparkle’, Town Talk, which can be used with any of our gold/goldfill and silver jewellery, and is fine to use with our stone settings. There are exceptions, i.e. porous stones such as pearls, emeralds, amber etc.

Our oxidised copper jewellery has a lovely chestnut colour, with areas highlighted. This will darken over time and is a natural process. However, copper should not be dipped, as this will remove the oxidisation treatment we have added, nor should it be kept continually wet.
